At ESSENTIAL ITEMS we are committed to continuously reviewing our supply chain, from the start through to the disposal of our packaging, to do our bit to contribute with the preservation of the environment whenever possible.

We believe that to be genuinely sustainable, the people behind the clothing should be a priority. Instead of trying to make things faster and cheaper, we want to produce quality things the right way and we strive to do so by continuously making sure ethical practices are followed across all supply chains. We make seasonless & timeless highly-functional items, designed to last.
Crafted using only high-quality materials, you can wear them all year round and they can stay useful in your wardrobe for years to come, transcending seasonal trends. Quick fact: Extending the lifespan of our clothes by only a further 9 months of active use would reduce carbon, waste and water footprints by around 20-30%.
We keep our supply chain locally.
Our production begins and ends in London and our whole supply chain is within a short distance. We believe that manufacturing locally is core to achieving sustainability because it covers all three pillars of it: environmental - reducing overseas shipping waste, carbon emissions and energy usage -, social - reintroducing meaningful, ethical work and a deepening of interpersonal relationships in our area -, and economic – contributing to our local economy and helping the people who live there.
Eco-friendly packaging/branding.
We also care about the way we deliver our products so all of our packaging, swing tags & paper work are either compostable, bio-degradable, environmentally friendly or made from recycled materials.
What makes our packaging environmentally friendly?
We would love to use zero paper and plastic to deliver our products. Unfortunately, our carefully manufactured items need to be protected while on their way to you; so we do what we believe is the next best thing: making sure that each piece of packaging is sustainable, recyclable, and/or biodegradable and we are consistently looking for alternative ways to make a difference.
